Nigerian Man Pleads Guilty to Million Dollar Email Scam Business

A Nigerian man is found guilty of email fraud scamming thousands globally for millions of dollars.

On Tuesday, 29-year old David Adindu pled guilty to two counts of conspiracy in Manhattan court.

He posed as an executive of a New York investment firm asking for wire transfers of over $25,000 referred to as a “business email compromise.”

Prosecutors say the man worked with a group of hackers in China and Nigeria to pull off scams from 2014 to 2016.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in September, and faces up to 35 years in prison.
